Another winner for Winter!

Yes, Dane is arrogant. It's an arrogance born of confidence and a supremely successful professional career. In his personal life, not so much. His background lends credence to a dysfunctional upbringing. Amazingly he has morphed that situation and its personal consequences into positive ways of helping others in similar situations. Bellamy, as it turns out is in need of his help. She too has been damaged by the polygamous home life in which she has been raised and is desperate to escape and save her sister from a hopeless existence as well.
These two damaged souls find solace in one another through some very challenging times. Ms. Renshaw excels at creating characters with great humanity. They are flawed, strong, and still possess the capacity to love and be loved despite the huge hurdles they've had to face. Dane and Bellamy bring hope to each other's life and Ms. Renshaw makes their story come alive through brilliant writing, scintillating dialogue, and an exciting plot.

The Other Side Of The Story... (from Arrogant Bastard)

4.5 stars. This is the other side of the story that began with "Arrogant Bastard." Both can be read as stand-alone novels, but you might find the experience more rewarding if you read "Arrogant Bastard" first.
I loved learning about Bellamy and Dane, having met Bellamy (and Dane, briefly) in the earlier story. This story was good, but it didn't surprise me as much as the earlier story did. That is the only reason I took 1/2 a star away. The surprise ending of "AB" really blew me away. I felt such a wide range of emotions reading it. This story didn't evoke quite as wide of a range of emotions, but it still had an interesting storyline.
Bellamy is searching for a way out of an arranged marriage to someone who creeps her out. She has to behave in a fake manner to keep her parents from suspecting that she has plans that are very different from theirs. She needs a job and a place to "land," so to speak, to escape that undesirable fate. She lucks into a chance meeting with Dane, who hires her on the spot. This was a little too good to be true, but it somehow fit with the story. He offers her a job with lots of perks, which she accepts, sight unseen.
This is where it gets interesting. Her idea of the job and his idea of the job are very different, but she is feeling desperate, so she doesn't care. There are a few false starts, but they finally get it right, and we get the expected HEA. It has a nice, but subtle ending. All-in-all, a satisfying read.

You really can't go wrong with Ms. Renshaw's books.

Seriously, how can you go wrong with Winter Renshaw? Arrogant Master (AM) is a companion book to her best-selling Arrogant Bastard (AB). I was so thrilled to have a chance to see more from the AB crew! In AM, we reunite with Bellamy, the enigmatic elder sister of Waverly from AB. If you've read AB, you know Bellamy was a bit of a mystery, but also a savior for her sister.
Bellamy comes from a polygamous family, where women are subjugated and expected to be chaste and calm, never speaking against the males in the household. Bellamy (and Waverly) are both expected to marry a polygamous man of their father's choosing (can I just say how I dislike their father? ugh!). I'm happy to say that they both have a way out: Dane Townsend.
Dane. Whew, hot! He's a bit arrogant, but he's also refined and not a bad person at all. I liked him, and he is Bellamy's way to freedom. For those of you who have read AB, you know what he does for the sisters. I won't post spoilers here in case you haven't.
I will just say that I enjoyed this book, and I was so happy to see the AB crew again. Give this one a try! You'll be glad you did.
