Excellent reference for multivariate analysis with SPSS

Just finishing research to support my dissertation. This book, recommended to me by my advisor, was probably the stats reference I used the most throughout the year (or so) long (long, long) process. The first two chapters are an outstanding introduction, or re-introduction, to univariate and multivariate statistical analysis...it had been a while since I'd taken my stats classes and I found the explanations at the start of this book extrememly clear and concise. At the end of chapter two are "decision making trees", that help you select an appropriate statistical method based on your research question and variables that I found helpful. Chapter 3 is all about data screening, and in a book with so much to like, chapter 3 was my hands-down favorite. It helped me (finally) become much more systematic in my approach to screening data, and evaluating assumptions associated with that data. I primarily used chapters 6, and 5 in my study. Excellent explanations of the underlying concepts for each statistical method are provided at the start of each chapter, followed by assumptions related to the tests, how to interpret results and write up those results, examples and, at the end, a step-by-step guideline (check-lists) for how to evaluate assumtions and perform the test using SPSS. (just when you think this book cannot get any better, you will find the check-lists at the end of the chapter...at that point, you will become the happiest grad student, ever!). As the authors state in the preface, the book is designed for someone just like me...not really a stats expert, but someone who needs to understand the concpets/proceesses enough to evaluate other research, and who needs to understand, explain and execute the tests. This book certainly, in my opinion, hits the mark.
