About the Author
Herbert McCabe was a Dominican Friar and theologian of outstanding originality who died in 2001. He was deeply influential on philosophers such as Anthony Kenny and Alasdair MacIntyre and poets and writers like Terry Eagleton and Seamus Heaney. Brian Davies is Professor of Philosophy at Fordham University, New York, USA. His publications include An Introduction to the Philosophy of Religion (Oxford University Press, 3rd edition, 2003) and The Thought of Thomas Aquinas (Oxford University Press, 1992). As usual an excellent book by Herbert McCabe

Herbert McCabe was a very deep theologian and philosopher, dead at the beginning of this century. He is a philosoher-theologian, which are the best theologians. (Nowadays, most catholic hteologians seem to be sociologist-theologian. There is no comparison, they are much less deep.) The book is a set of articles (13) by the author, written in different times, but all of them are deep and original (and orthodox). It pays to read it, not necessarily in the order, but according to your preference of the subjects, all of them related to the title of hte book

Inside Tracks - a parallel reality in beautiful images

I love the film "Tracks"(starring Mia Wasikowska), it's breathtakingly beautiful and moving, and I love the brilliant Robyn Davidson memoir upon which it was based. There is more than one angle to a story, especially one as personal, mythic, both timeless and of-a-time, as the journey in "Tracks". This gorgeous and exquisitely detailed coffee-table book, "Inside Tracks", is obviously a labor of love that brings into sharp focus (how's that for a metaphor) a young woman's compelling trek across the outback that opened endless vistas, both outward, and, most tellingly, within herself. With both the original stunning photographs and then contemporary ones from the film and it's production, this edition of Robyn Davidson's story really helps draw together the real and the abstract journey it has taken over the last several decades - from trek, to photos, to book and now to movie. The photographer Rick Smolan (played by Adam Driver in the film) has really created a thing of beauty that will take me a while to absorb - this is a wonderful book, for the photos and also for the text and the movie's script, with accompanying stills. There's also some superb writing from Robyn herself that is strategically placed halfway in the book, between the original journey and the one taken in the film. I'm also looking forward to making use of the smartphone application, which can only heighten the parallel reality of this unique and memorable journey.

Saw this movie in the theater and couldn't wait for ...

Saw this movie in the theater and couldn't wait for it to be released on DVD. So much more of an accomplishment than Cheryl Strayed in Wild. Also bought the book by Robyn Davidson and the book of photographer Rick Smolan. Went on eBay and got the National Geographic magazine from May 1978. Definitely a movie to have in your personal library.

Great book - buying it in digital form is a waste of money

A word of note - while the book is great - buying it in digital form is unnecessary. If you install the Giants editor from the SDK folder under where the game Farming Simulator is installed, it already comes with this book in PDF format. Don't waste your 13.00 on the Kindle edition. Buy it in physical book form if you must, but you can also print out and bind the PDF in a 3 ring binder and you'll have the same material.

About the Author
Born in Germany, Edgar Rothermich (DingDingMusic.com) studied music and sound engineering at the prestigious Tonmeister program at the Berlin Institute of Technology (TU) and the University of Arts (UdK) in Berlin where he graduated in 1989 with a Master's Degree. He worked as a composer and music producer in Berlin and moved to Los Angeles in 1991 where he continued his work on numerous projects in the music and film industry ("The Celestine Prophecy", "Outer Limits", "Babylon 5", "What the Bleep do we know", "Fuel", "Big Money Rustlas").
For the past 20 years Edgar has had a successful musical partnership with electronic music pioneer and founding Tangerine Dream member Christopher Franke. Recently in addition to his collaboration with Christopher, Edgar has been working with other artists as well as on his own projects. 
In 2010 he started to release his solo records in the "Why Not ..." series with different styles and genres. The current releases are "Why Not Solo Piano", "Why Not Electronica", "Why Not Electronica Again", and "Why Not 90s Electronica". This previously unreleased album was produced in 1991/1992 by Christopher Franke. All albums are available on Amazon and iTunes including the 2012 release, the re-recording of the Blade Runner Soundtrack.

Great Book

The picture / numbers / steps approach is the only way to go for such visually-based software. The information presented shows an in-depth knowledge of the the inner workings of the software. This should be the first book for the beginning user and a handy reference for the experienced one. The sections on file sharing and using iCloud with GarageBand for iPad are invaluable.

I ACTUALLY have an iPad.

*I accidentally ordered Garage Band for MAC, but I don't have on of those.
Garage Band for iPad will teach me A LOT more than I would do on my own.
Garage Band for iPad, anyway is NOTORIOUS for not volenteering information.
The book helps a lot. For example, I couldn't figure out how to make it between the 4 sections, it showed me that.
The book was worth it for that alone! And I'm sure I will learn a lot more too, before I'm done.

Ok, best part is the pictures, but still as with all DAW software it seems to leave the beginner without the basics. It starts as if you knew how to perform these recording tasks already.

Colby N. Leider is a noted composer, inventor of audio control equipment, instrument builder, and one of the world's leading authorities on digital audio workstations. With degrees in electroacoustic music and music composition from Princeton and Dartmouth, he currently teaches at the University of Miami, Florida, as an Assistant Professor of Music Engineering. DAW Book

This is an informative book about audio basics and audio workstations. It help me, a first time user of audio and midi recording better understand the subject. I still have to master the technical details of cubase (DAW) and the hardware I have that connects all the audio signals together in the computer (Lexicon Lambda). I recommecd this book for those "in the dark", like I was.

Textbook

Some one in a previous review listed this as a textbook, well it really is and I have found it very helpful. The history behind the development of a technology helps me to understand the reason behind the development and a appreciation of the technology at hand and at the present time. Nothing just happens. It evolves and keeps on until it theoretically becomes refined to the max.(and lots of times it leads to a new invention) This is a fairly good book. I think it will give enough information to get you to walking and to begin to understand the terms and what they entail. Now I understand on my interface, what the sample rate is, and the meaning of compression. This isnt everything but it gives the fundamentals.

Sweet story

I have to say this was a pretty sweet read for me. I actually ended up reading it in one night. I loved the two main characters Jake and Danny, their small town love story was so endearing. I enjoyed reading about them.

Danny and Jake were high school sweethearts, Jake was two years older than Danny. Everyone was expecting they get married, but Danny wasn't ready for that kind of commitment. She wanted to get of their small town and experience big city life. She ended up leaving one night without even a goodbye. Jake was devastated and it changed him. All he ever wanted to do is forget about Danny. Danny ends up coming back to town after her relationship and job ended. It was a fresh start for her. Seven years have passed since she has seen Jake and she is scared to death. Will they finally have closure? Has Jake forgiven her? Will they finally get their happily ever after or does Jake have other plans for Danny?

This book had so many sweet moments it will make your heart melt. I enjoyed reading about these long lost lovers reconnecting. Their feelings never faltered. They both just lived their lives never forgetting what the other meant to them. Not only is this a story of loving and losing you first love, but also finding them again and moving on. I love how very protective and understanding that Jake was with Danny. Once he found her again there was nothing that was going to stand in his way. Danny was so sweet and caring, but independent and strong at the same time. They both come from wonderful families and have strong values. They have some road blocks in the story, ones that neither could of suspected. Their story was very captivating, I was rooting for them through the entire book.

I am so glad I got the opportunity to read this light and refreshing story of loving, losing, and finding that love again. I would recommend that is you are looking for a sweet story with a heroic cowboy then this is the book for you. Seriously who doesn't like cowboys.

Brought back fond memories

From the very beginning, I was enthralled with this story line. It brought back such bittersweet memories of my own high school love. I haven't thought of him in a long time but when I started reading this book, I was transported back to the age of 17 and was madly in love, all over again. The memories brought back were welcome, even if a little painful. I loved reliving those days, every minute of it. I love books that can touch my life so deeply, so profoundly, like this one has! Kudos to the writer; she did an excellent job of drawing me in and helping me connect with the characters on a personal level.

Enjoyable read

Considering my first Novel by Jaden Wilkes was a dark erotic romance, I was surprised by how mainstream this story was. Pleasantly surprised, I might add.

For most of the story, I liked Danny's confidence despite her nervousness of seeing Jake again. She had the right blend of boldness mixed with a little bit of vulnerability.

Jake seemed stoic whenever we weren't privy to his thoughts. I loved that he could still feel tied up in knots around Danny.

Their history was presented in small doses through their memories of happier times, so I believed the love they once had for one another, but I also understood Danny's struggle with having to choose between getting out of her small town and becoming Jake's wife versus spreading her wings.

It didn't come as a surprise that Jake was seeking a little payback for what she'd done to him, but it showed his maturity that he was able to reel himself in and not go the route of an eye for an eye. In the seven years they'd been apart, I think their chemistry was even stronger since they'd both lived through some heartaches. I liked the glimpses of them when love was still young and untainted, but I also enjoyed their journey into becoming who they were as adults.

Their road to happiness wasn't a smooth one. Between Jake's ex-wife and Danny's ex-boyfriend, they stirred up enough trouble to threaten the newly formed relationship. Somewhere past the half way mark, I began to dislike Danny a little for keeping Matt's texts a secret from Jake. I understood why she did it, but it just seemed like a weak excuse considering she'd been so firm and confident up until that point. I thought the unfortunate misunderstandings through lack of communication were a bit forced when they could have easily been cleared up had they talked to one another. I just felt that they were in a stronger place to deal with problems when everything went down. Alas, I have to admit that the drama made for a sweet and ridiculously romantic ending though.

Reverse Cowgirl (I love the play on words alluding not only to the sexual position, but also the essence of who Danny was - from cowgirl to city girl and reverting back to her roots) was a sweet and very hot romance with a bit of suspense and drama to make you care about them. And it kept you hoping that they'd realize what a gift that second chance at love was.

Note: The book had quite a few errors (tenses, homophones). I purchased my copy in June 2014. maybe it has since been updated.
