Good counting book (even for a 22 month old!)

My 22 month old is pretty consistently counting to 10 after reading this book just a handful of times. Before the book I would count to 10 in the car every so often and she would primarily listen. While the book has a lot of different items to count, the content can be a little overwhelming for a 22 month old but the book is listed for 4 years and up. Some of the pages focus on a specific number ad will have a lot going on which may be too much for a 2 yo. We usually will pick one type of item for that particular number we are counting and count just those items and move on to the next page and number. We're sticking to 1-10 for now and will move on to higher numbers once she's good with it. It's a long book and I'm looking forward to exploring new content soon. The illustrations are great and keep her attention well. There's also adding, subtacting and grouping of numbers.

Great book - wish it had more space to count in detail after 20

Another fun Richard Scarry book that does a good job of helping a child learn to count from 1-20. After 20, it goes by tens - 30, 40, etc. up to 100.

The illustrations are great and I like that some of the items are in different colors so they can learn that similar items can still be counted together or separately depending on the situation. There's a small beginner's math section included as well.

It comes with a book cover that I took off since that would get ripped up right away, but we'll re-use later.

Wonderful classic counting book

This book is great for children ages 2-8. It introduces basic adding concepts and allows children to escape in the amazing world of Richard Scarry. It is one of my son's absolute favorite books, next to Cars, Trucks, and Things that Go.

Couldn't put the book down!

This is a great book for anyone struggling with being Insync with the paranormal and trying to be a good Christian! Adrian did a great job of breaking down verses that support God's given gifts! I will be keeping this is my ghost investigating arsenal! Totally 100% recommend

we didn't read the bible like the other Christian churches

Growing up Catholic, we didn't read the bible like the other Christian churches. You went to church every Sunday, Father preached. I stared off into space most Sundays or looked at the stained glass windows, considered why I hadn't eaten breakfast and hoped I didn't pass out from hunger pains. And Wednesday afternoons you had religion, which was great in elementary - we got an afternoon snack! As I got older, I was the kid in religion class asking those annoying questions that teachers hate because the don't know the answer either! I figured if I was stuck there for an hour, I wanted some answers and not to read out of a book. Yeah, my classmates really enjoyed having me there. For many years I considered myself a "recovering Catholic" as I didn't agree with the doctrine of the church and frankly, I haven't been going to church for many years. I've always felt much more spiritual than religious. In the last 2 1/2 years I "woke up" as they say and during this time I have spent a lot of time in reflection about what it all means. I pray more, a lot more. I talk to God a lot. I talk to angels. I ask for help (and it's still not easy to do). I have conflicts with my family because I'm the "odd man out" because I don't think like the rest of the family when it comes to religion, church, spirituality, and God.

Last fall I had the opportunity to meet Adrian at a local natural healing and psychic show. I remember him saying that he was writing a book that he felt I would benefit from. My goodness here it is!!!!! If I didn't have to go to work I would have read the entire book in 1 day! Alas, it did take me 3 days to read it. I have learned so much and am not afraid anymore of the changes that I'm going through. I'm one of the folks that Adrian refers to as "just coming into their abilities" and it has been a work in progress. I have taken a Reiki class, but I haven't worked on anyone yet in fear that word would get out and that folks would think I'm nuts. The scripture references are great and really made me realize that I do need to read the bible (side note started about 4 years ago and I'm at the beginning of Leviticus - go figure that's quoted a lot in the book). This book has been so insightful, well written and a book that I will refer to often. My 2nd read through will be with a highlighter. I really enjoyed when he talked about prayer and meditation. Meditation is something I have struggled with for a long time. Now I have a better understanding of it!

I've already referred this book to many friends (and that was after reading just through the introduction and preface) in person and via Facebook. For those that aren't going to rush out to the book store to buy this book, I HIGHLY encourage you to give it a chance. You might learn a thing or two that you didn't know previously. It has answered many questions for me, but it's also created more questions! BUY THIS BOOK!

Put Away Pitchforks and Torches!

Would it surprise you to find out the bible not only mentions psychic activities but promotes them? In fact, if you have these gifts, not only can you use them, but you should be using them.

This is the point being made in the book “How the be a Christian Psychic” by Adrian Lee. Lee is an accomplished theologian and also able to communicate with spirits and do energy healings. Despite his deep faith, he is has been called out as doing the work of the devil and that he is evil. This started to bother him, as he knows the bible front to back having read it multiple times. He knows the verses that speak of psychic abilities, taking to the dead and healing with one’s hands. He has prepared this book as a personal defense and a reference for others facing the same criticisms. In his work he has discovered he is not alone in this battle.

He expects to receive criticism from Christians who have not read his book or studied the bible to the extent that he has. He also expects criticism from non-Christians who might object to his further stand that if you have these gifts, you not only should be using them, but using them as a Christian, not a pagan, Wiccan or any other faith.

For the Christian psychic, healer, medium, ghost hunter and more, this book will much needed resource on one’s shelf. It is full of discussions of relevant Bible verses as well as Lee’s extensive personal experiences in these areas. If you are an open-minded Christian, Lee’s witnessing of his faith is moving, and may even rekindle your own.

Musically, the album was groundbreaking for its mix of improvisational music and Dionysian lyrics. As both an artist and a woman, she broke new ground.

Smith released three more albums before abruptly walking away from her fame in 1980. She reemerged in the mid-'90s to reshape her image and astound fans with her dynamic performances. Smith's impact on rock music―her rebellion against gender roles, her charismatic performances, her merging of poetry and music, and the way she's aged as a rock star―has been vast. She has redefined what it means for women to be rock performers and blazed trails for many other popular female musicians to follow after her. Individual chapters examine individual albums and account for parallel developments in Smith's life. Tarr concludes his work with an examination of the influence Smith has had on pop culture and on rock 'n' roll in general. Patti Smith is a guarded and private person, and little has been written about her. In this searching analysis of Smith's life and work, author Joe Tarr has filled a huge gap and provided an essential guide to the iconic artist's career.

"The Wellness Mindset" is a valuable book that combines a wealth of nutritional wisdom with a variety of other recommendations for wellness. Although I've been educating myself about healthy eating for decades, this book opened my eyes to quite a few things I wasn't aware of before. Tracy Kay has really done her homework, and the evidence is in the credible and respectable sources she cites as well as her own return to health.

In addition to the nutritional particulars, I also appreciated her messages about self-value, self-care, and exercise as well as the extremely important information she offers about how to choose health-care advisors who will support true healing and wellness. I'm glad I bought this book!

I have life-threatening blood blots in my lungs and in my legs. My body has to destroy the blood clots and absorb them: that's the only way to get rid of them. I's pretty obvious that my body needs all the help it can get! I heard about Tracy's book from a friend. I read in a couple hours. It's plainly written by an ordinary person who is walking the walk; not by a professional who is only talking the talk. I am incorporating Tracy's ideas into my life at my own pace. It is definitely helping me help myself. By the way, Tracy has a Facebook page. I sent her a message and she got back to me. Nice woman who really does care.

Fantastic transcriptions and examples

I have absolutely no idea what the first reviewer was complaining about with this book. The transcriptions are incredible and the accompanying CD was remarkably helpful. It helps not to have to go out and buy every piece of Evans music represented in the book if you don't have it already in your library of music. The musicians playing the pieces are very good. OK, the pianist does not sound exactly like Bill Evans but who would? I bought this book primarily for Peace Piece and the transcription is exact. So much so that when played on the accompanying CD it even came out to the exact same timing as on "Everybody Loves Bill Evans" where the original first appears. The slowed down examples are excellent. I suppose one could quibble that the author did not discuss each piece in depth measure by measure but I challenge anyone to find a more accurate set of transcriptions. As far as doing it yourself? Good luck!!! Of all the Evans music books out there that I have seen I would definitely rate this the best.

More than just a book of transcriptions

This very well done book is not only features transcriptions of some of Evans' most influential material, it also has a great CD to go along with it. Each tune has a track with a full trio playing. And it's not the cheese midi accompanying you get with some play along books. These are real jazz musicians and sound great. Also each tune has certain sections slowed down on the recording to hear tricky parts better. And if that wasn't enough, there's also a third track of just bass and drums to play along to.
The author icludes very insightful summaries before each transcription highlighting the particular aspects of Evans' style that can be heard on the particular tune which makes this truly a "step-by-step breakdown." If you spend time and work through this book you will definitely come away with a greater technical as well as theoretical understanding of Evans' music.
A must for any jazz pianists library.

I don't follow Bill's solos in the literal sense although I sometimes copy his chord voicings.
